Piers Morgan was full of praise for Arsenal’s match winner on Sunday as the Gunners’ blushes were spared very late on in the dramatic clash with Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The Gunners opened their Europa League campaign with a 3-0 win on Thursday night, only a few days after the disappointment at Watford which saw them take a 2-0 lead by half-time before surrendering that advantage courtesy of a woeful defensive show in the second half.

Arsenal’s hopes of maintaining their push for a place in the top four of the Premier League were boosted by defeats for rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United before their clash with Aston Villa at the Emirates stadium.

After going down to ten men and trailing twice to the newly-promoted visiting side, Arsenal had to be saved by Aubameyang yet again as the former Borussia Dortmund star curled home a fantastic free-kick to snatch the three points for Emery’s side.
