According to former Gunner Martin Keown, Arsenal have been hit with a new injury blow this weekend.

Arsene Wenger named a much-changed starting line-up on Saturday as Ainsley Maitland-Niles was handed a rare start while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was moved into midfield to accommodate for the absence of some key players.

The Arsenal manager’s big calls paid off in the end as his side coasted towards a comprehensive 5-0 victory at the St. Mary’s stadium.

However, Wenger’s alterations to the line-up saw some fans question why the likes of Mesut Ozil, Francis Coquelin and Aaron Ramsey were nowhere to be found on Saturday.

According to Martin Keown, who now works as a pundit for BT Sport, he has been informed that the trio have suffered injuries even though they were able to participate in Friday’s training session.

“I’m hearing that Ramsey is injured, Coquelin is injured and Özil is injured,” the Ex-Gunner was quoted as saying by the Metro.

Arsenal’s next fixture is an important clash with Watford at the Emirates stadium on Tuesday night as Wenger’s men turn their focus from the FA Cup to the Premier League where Chelsea now have an eight-point lead at the top.
