The Gunners have been hit with a blow heading into the trip to Manchester United on Wednesday with one of Unai Emery’s key midfielders now ruled out of the match.

Arsenal extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 19 games on Sunday afternoon, courtesy of a magnificent attacking show which saw them score three times in the second half of the game to beat fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 at the Emirates stadium.

One of the star performers in the north London derby was Granit Xhaka, who has been gradually redeeming himself after being bashed for his inconsistent performances for much of last season.

Ahead of the clash with Manchester United though, the Gunners have been hit with a major blow as Xhaka is now ruled out of the game due to suspension.

The former Bundesliga star received another yellow card on Sunday which means he is now ineligible to feature in the trip to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

“Due to receiving his fifth domestic booking he receives a one-match suspension for Manchester United (a) on Wednesday, December 5.” an official update from the club said
