McGarry claims he has ‘heard’ Arsenal have made contact to sign talented 28-year-old

The Gunners are said to have made contact over the possible addition of one of the best defenders in Europe at the moment as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad.
Arsenal finished last season with the worst defensive record out of all of the top six sides in the Premier League, as they missed out on a place in the Champions League once again.
The Gunners’ woeful defending has continued this season, despite the addition of David Luiz from Chelsea, during the summer transfer window.
With the team in desperate need of new talent at centre-back, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta might have to spend in the January transfer window to improve things at the Emirates stadium.
Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly appears to be a target for the Gunners and according to journalist Ian McGarry, the club has reportedly made contact to sign the defender.
Arsenal are apparently interested in offering Sead Kolasinac in any negotiations with Napoli for the highly-rated Koulibaly.
“I’ve heard, although can’t confirm, that Arsenal have also made contact with Napoli through a third-party regarding Koulibaly.” Ian McGarry said on the latest episode of the Transfer Window Podcast via Daily Star
“This comes on the back of their desire under Mikel Arteta to strengthen their defence.
“And also that they’ve got some interest from Sead Kolasinac. So you could see the possibility of Kolasinac being offered to Napoli in part-exchange plus cash, although Di Laurentiis prefers cash for Koulibaly because he wants to strengthen his team up the Serie A table.”
