Mertesacker returns! – My line-up for Arsenal vs West Brom
TEAM NEWS
Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Santi Cazorla, who are all working on their match fitness after recovering from injuries, are unlikely to be involved.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently the only player completely sidelined.
DECISIONS
For the second week running, there is a temptation to drop Gabriel for Per Mertesacker after the Brazilian’s uninspiring recent performances. With another game coming up on Sunday, Wenger could go with that change to rotate his options after all.
The likes of Aaron Ramey, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud have done absolutely nothing of late to warrant a return to the starting eleven. Thus, the same midfield and attacking unit will have to start on Thursday if we are to break down an organized West Brom side.
LINE-UP
I’d prefer Giroud to Welbeck. Giroud is more suitable against teams that come to sit deep. Let the wingers/wing backs float the balls into the box for Giroud to attack. Not many are better than him playing that way
