Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil took to social media to send out a message to the fans after the controversial incident involving his teammate and skipper Granit Xhaka.

The Gunners faced Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday, hoping to bounce back from the loss away to Sheffield United earlier in the week.

After Arsenal surrendered a comfortable 2-0 lead, there was a sense of anger and anxiety around the Emirates stadium in the second half of the game.

That resulted in the fans directing jeers at captain Granit Xhaka as he was being substituted, with the Switzerland international responding with insults of his own.

It was one of the lowest moments of the season at the club and even Mesut Ozil, who has been left out of the picture for much of this campaign, has stepped in with a tough but much-needed message for the Arsenal fans ahead of the clash with Liverpool.
