Mikel Arteta breaks his silence on social media after getting Arsenal job
Ex-midfielder Mikel Arteta has sent out a message to the Arsenal faithful for the first time since he was awarded the role of Arsenal boss on Friday.
Arsenal were rather moving slowly in their attempt to find a replacement for Unai Emery, who was sacked in November.
However, the team’s worrying form in the post Emery era has seen the club make the swift decision to bring back Mikel Arteta to the Emirates stadium.
The Spaniard spent half a decade in north London as a Gunner, playing a key role in Arsenal’s FA Cup triumph in 2014, which ended the club’s long run without a trophy.
Arteta was in attendance at Goodison Park as Arsenal settled for a 0-0 draw away to Everton on Saturday afternoon.
The new Arsenal boss has taken to social media to send out a message to the fans after officially taking the job from Freddie Ljungberg this weekend.
Thank you all for the warm welcome, I feel very honoured and happy to be back.
