Mourinho reveals how he rates 21-year-old whom Arsenal have held talks to sign
Former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has spoken about the quality and potential of Arsenal target Ismaila Sarr who has attracted the interest of the Gunners over the past couple of months.
Arsenal got rid of the likes of Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, and Alexis Sanchez during the January transfer window last year and that saw the squad lose a lot of options in the attacking department.
After a fairly disappointing campaign from Alex Iwobi, it comes as no surprise that Unai Emery is interested in bringing in another winger to better his options in attack.
Thus, a report from March suggested that Arsenal opened transfer talks with Rennes over signing their promising winger Ismaila Sarr immediately after the Europa League clash.
The Senegalese forward was one of the players who scored in Rennes’ 3-1 victory over Arsenal and speaking about the potential of Sarr, Jose Mourinho has compared him to Barcelona’s Dembele.
“I can tell you that in the top three clubs in your league this season – Paris Saint-Germain, Lille and Lyon – you have extremely talented players who everyone knows already,’ Mourinho said, according to Metro
“If I speak [about players] I think that their agents will be very happy.
“But for example, I like Allan Saint-Maximin, I like his speed, and I think Ismaila Sarr has a little bit of [Ousmane] Dembele in him.
“There are a lot of players in Ligue 1 who have great potential.”
