‘Need to sell him, Has to be benched’: Some fans attack Arsenal star after 2-2 draw
Several Arsenal supporters took to Twitter to hit out at one of the attackers who were in action during Sunday’s clash with Norwich City in the Premier League.
Last weekend, the Gunners could only manage to secure a draw against a struggling Southampton side who actually left the Emirates stadium, having played as the better side on the day.
Arsenal followed up that result with a defeat at home to Frankfurt in the Europa League with Unai Emery getting sacked less than a day after that match.
Freddie Ljungberg, who has replaced the Spaniard for now, named a starting eleven on Sunday which saw Alexandre Lacazette start.
The Frenchman managed to score a double last weekend but it appears as though his performance against Norwich City was disappointing for a number of fans.
Lacazette has indeed rarely scored in away games during his time at Arsenal and after his display on Sunday, some fans shared their strong thoughts.
Is Lacazette prolific enough for us to move Aubameyang out wide? Absolutely not. He has to be benched. You have a £72m winger and THREE great young guns coming up in Martinelli/Nelson/Saka.

We need to sell Lacazette in the summer, he is clearly a big character in the dressing room so any coach coming in unless they are a big name themselves will struggle to bench him. Doesn't help that Auba doesn't complain either.

Lacazette is nowhere nearly good enough to be holding any cards in contract negotiations. I'd rather the consistent 'much ado about nothing' performances came from someone like Nketiah or Martinelli than someone like Lacazette.

Don’t see what Lacazette adds to justify pushing Aubameyang wide right now. #Arsenal would be better with PEA in the middle and Laca on the bench.

4. I’m tired of making excuses for Lacazette. The only position he can play in that team is as CF and he doesn’t even do a good job of that most times. He’s not clinically ruthless enough, his holdup play has dropped in quality and he passes too poorly at crucial times. Sigh.
