One of the Gunners’ new signings has lifted the lid on certain activities which go on behind the scenes at the club.

Arsenal have grown into one of Europe’s most respected clubs under the long reign of current manager Arsene Wenger.

The French tactician has often been praised for the training methods, ideas and facilities he introduced to the club and England after arriving in 1996.

And according to Granit Xhaka, who left the Bundesliga to join the Gunners during the summer, the way Arsenal professionally prepare for games is a level above what happens at his old club.

“Arsenal is two notches bigger than Borussia Moenchengladbach, the opportunities at the training ground are enormous and we work even more intensively than in the Bundesliga, the pace is higher the game more physical.” Xhaka said in an interview

“Before every training session we work in the gym, every week tests are made to see how fit you are, how tired you are, how you sleep. Sessions are shorter but more intense and every day is full on.”

The 24-year-old has also lauded Wenger for his easygoing attitude which has famously attracted a host of promising players to the club.

“He’s a quiet character, doesn’t talk to his players a lot, but he’s a gentleman like Hitzfeld,” he added.

“More than 20 years at one club. That speaks volumes. He’s a top coach and the absolute boss at the club, you feel that every day.”
