Emerging reports have linked Arsenal with a transfer deal which would be greeted with a lot surprise if it were to happen.

Over the past decade, Arsene Wenger has given the green light to a few unorthodox transfers which has seen several star players leave the club to join rival clubs in the Premier League and around Europe.

Since Patrick Vieira’s switch to Juventus in 2005, a host of key players have said goodbye to the club with Thierry Henry, Emmanuel Adebayor, Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and most recently Robin van Persie all making unpopular moves.

And if new reports circulating today are anything to go by, there is a chance of another well-known Gunner swapping the Emirates stadium for Old Tafford.

According to the Sun, Jose Mourinho is considering a decision to offer Mesut Ozil a big-money move to Manchester United which could see his wages increase significantly.

The report claims that the Red Devils are interested in paying the German international £250,000-per-week if a bid planned to be tabled next summer is accepted by Arsenal.

Ozil, who worked with Mourinho at Real Madrid, has less than two years remaining on his current deal with the Gunners as talks over a contract extension continue.
