Edinson Cavani has been left out of the PSG squad for their winter training camp even though the Uruguayan is not nursing any injury.

Despite his unsettled future in Paris, Cavani’s manager Laurent Blanc has rubbished the latest rumours about a move to Arsenal.

Speculation earlier today suggested that the Gunners were ‘leading the race’ to sign Cavani even though there had been no confirmation over Arsene Wenger’s interest in the player.

Wenger labeled reports about a £50m deal to sign the striker as ‘a joke’ on Sunday and it now appears that his countryman Blanc is echoing that denial.

The French champions were in action on Tuesday as they defeated Inter Milan 1-0 in a friendly match. And when asked about the ‘Cavani to Arsenal’ situation,  the PSG manager intended to end the saga.

“Cavani is on a contract with us and I have said many times that he will stay” Blanc said

“We understand the interest from England because he is a very good player, but we will not be selling him”

If Arsenal were to turn the tables and manage to secure the services of Cavani, the 27-year-old would be ineligible to participate in the Champions League clash with AS Monaco due to being cup-tied.
