Nicklas Bendtner set for return next week
For the first time in nearly three months, Nicklas Bendtner may be named in an Arsenal squad when the Gunners visit Villa Park next week Wednesday.
The Dane was last seen limping off before half-time in the derby victory against Tottenham on October 31.
Bendtner was replaced by Eduardo on that day and another injury blow to Van Persie which soon followed, has seen the Croatian manage the task of Arsenal’s main frontman ever since.
The injured duo’s absence have left Arsenal literally ‘short’ in attacking options with midfielders Arshavin, Diaby and Fabregas called upon for goals.
But Arsene Wenger’s side have done well to hang in there during this period and should soon welcome the boost of Nicklas Bendtner’s return in the league match at Aston Villa 10 days from today.
“Nicklas Bendtner should be available for the Villa game on January 27 too” Wenger said.
“He should be back from next week onwards – Monday or Tuesday. Maybe he will not be completely ready for Stoke but, after that, he should be able to be in the squad.”
Wenger also had other gains on the injury front to reveal as fit-again Theo Walcott and Denilson are both likely to feature against Bolton later this week.
“Denilson and Walcott are available for Wednesday night,” the boss said.
“It is a big boost of course because they were out for a while and it gives us some fresh players. Walcott has been unlucky with some small niggling injuries and so it is good to have him back.
Great news…another player coming off from injury! Hope to see, Nasri and Theo back in time when our schedule starts to get extremely busy! Last couple of weeks of Jan. and the month of Feb. is going to be a battle for 1st place. We are def going to see Arsenal’s true colors! It’s good to see some players step up their game…Cesc Diaby are a great example of that!
Champions League is another story and I’m very excited about that, as well! I dream that we get our hands on that trophy this year!
My Dad is a Man U. fan all the way! He said to me this past weekend after the Bolton game…”It looks like this is Arsenal’s year!” I almost fell off my seat when he said that. Deep down inside he loves our style of play. haha.
Go Gunners!
how i wish it was van persie coming back in 10 days… thats what his original return date was before the second diagnosis.
Pritpal, man do I feel the same way! That would be the ultimate boost! We are doing well without him..imagine having a healthy RVP? *sigh*
Nice, we need him back.
havin cesc arsh and rvp in the same team again wud be amazing!
All the same our danish hitman will be another boost to the team but if there is no further injury we will be fine.Up Gunners.
it will be good if we can still have cesc and rvp at our current team, but we still thank god we have bentner back from injury
About bloody time too because it doesn’t look as if Wenger is going to buy another striker! Let’s hope Walcott can actually stay fit for longer than 5 minutes this time around.
This is welcome news of course, and it could not have come at a better time when we need to have all guns blazing. Also hope that Theo can stay healthy for the remainder of the season,he has really been unlucky with injuries so far this season. He will give the team more options going forward.Go Gunners.
i have hopes for bendtner. he’s got attitude, mojo, and a head for the goal. THIS is your moment boy … STEP THE EFF UP!
