‘No bad news on Van Persie’
Robin van Persie will soon return.
The Dutchman’s withdrawal after just 34 minutes was the only glitch about Arsenal’s impressive result at Blackburn on Saturday.
Van Persie, who provided the assist to Walcott’s goal, had to be replaced by Marouane Chamakh – causing fears over a repeat of last season’s fitness woes.
Despite his undoubted talent, the 27-year-old’s Arsenal career has been marred by injuries but the latest problem he suffered at Edwood Park should not keep him out for too long.
According to Arsene Wenger, the World Cup finalist will sit out less than two weeks of action after taking a slight blow to his ankle.
“It is a twisted ankle. We will have to check but if we have no bad news, we hope that in 8-10 days he can be okay”.
Van Persie is now unlikely to be called upon by the Netherlands for next week’s international breakĀ – the scene of his season-threatening injury last year.

blessing in disquise
I’d rather RvP in the hands of the Arsenal medical team than the Dutch one!
How long does a twisted ankle keep u out for? Do u think he’ll be back after the internationals nx week?
Has to be said that Diaby was utter class today! 5 star performance. More of that Abou!
Well lets hope he recover soon, but to tell the truth those ankle look swollen or had on extra wraps which is not a good sign for a man of extreme talent.
the team is talented and i hope vela will get is chance soon arshavin looked a little better today
Almunia was the last to leave and threw his shirt and armband into the crowd…that sounds pretty conclusive to me, but what do you guys think? I would much rather we flogged Fabianski.
Wilshere’s tackle on Samba was massive!!!
I’m really worried abt RvP injury, it’s never easy for him to recover on time anytime he has an injury. Gunners 4 life!
Alternative cure for a twisted ankle. Spread 1 egg, a bit of bacon and hedgehog brain on the injured location. Expect period of recovery to erm double.
May be its a blessing in disguise.I m sure if he had went on international break,he would have come back injured
Classic performance from e boys, almunia did preety well today. i pray wenger buys blaise matuidi so he can complement e defensive midfield.
a bit worried especially in the first half after conceding a cheap goal (no marking in the box) but glad we held on for the win.Hope our defence improves in the coming weeks, was not totally convince by the performance but there are signs of improvement.
Pluses: Walcott fine goal good performance
Diaby:Why cant he play like this every week
Chamakh: The way he “handled” Samba at the set pieces made a big difference
Minuses: Clichy. He just cant concentrate.Switched off for the goal
Kos: It was frightening the way he was bundled off the ball for the goal.Drogba will eat him on this form
RVP:Is this guy raelly mad of straw?
It was Koscielny’s 2ng game FFS! Twat
It was a strong tackle, but poor Robin is just like an egg shell.
it was a very good day for the gunners and with Tottenham loosing it even better.
RVP please recover quickly. We honestly miss you.meanwhile, I think Sagna was pretty strong today. Theo was marvelous but should continue to work on accuracy of his shots. Who said Diaby was good. That’s balderdash from what i saw. Better hunting boys.
Diaby was quality. If you think otherwise, you’re either clueless or a hater
I like the word you used- “Arsenal’s result” because that’s what it was- aresult not a performance. More of that. Commoonnn you Arsenal!!!!
am i the only one thinking that RVP is made of glassss!!!!!!!
come on we all love the guy and know he is talented but we cant win crap if our stars are never playing š
F*ck off
Common diaby is fantastic.
Great game, Blackburn away is tough for anyone!
Walcott looked like the player he’s meant to be, calm finish, good awareness… keep it up Theo.
Almunia played pretty well, considering he had to deal with Blackburns Thugs eleven, sorry First eleven!
My only gripe was Sagna, seemed to be caught upfield to often when they attacked, put Kolscielny under extra pressure.
Gooners!
it was a tough away game for sure… but we managed to pull through. our defence shud not be conceding goals like that though. hopefully we’ll be more solid in our next match.
Both V Persi ankles were heavily strapped What is that? Does he have an injury on both or are his ankes just weaker than everyone elses? Dont expect to see him play more games than last season.
