Not Sokratis: Arsenal make ‘positive progress’ over agreeing deal for £110,000-a-week star
According to British journalist Jeremy Wilson, the Gunners are closing in on a deal for one of the important players in the squad ahead of next season.
Unai Emery has arrived at the club with a lot on his agenda, after replacing Arsene Wenger who has failed to guide the team into the Champions League for back-to-back seasons.
The new Arsenal boss is believed to be keen on building his team around certain players like Aaron Ramsey, who has been at the club since the summer of 2008.
And according to journalist Jeremy Wilson, the Gunners have made ‘positive progress’ over agreeing a new deal for the Welsh midfielder.
Ramsey, who is on a £110,000-a-week wage, has been troubled by frequent injuries over his decade-long career at Arsenal but he remains an important player in the current squad.

The 27-year-old only has one year remaining on his contract at the club, and the Gunners are seemingly eager to avoid another situation like the one which saw Alexis Sanchez join rivals Manchester United in January.
