Olsen: I expect Bendtner to find a new club
Nicklas Bendtner may spending his final days as an Arsenal player.
The Danish striker is out of favour at the club – only making a cameo against Liverpool – and according to his national team coach, his Arsenal career is likely to come to an end soon.
Since the turn of the year, the 23-year-old has constantly reiterated his will to leave the club in search of more action elsewhere, but the Dane is yet to find a club that suits his demands.
Bendtner has been linked to a number of clubs near his country, from German sides Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen to his hometown club move FC Copenhagen.
And as he regroups his squad ahead of the international break, Denmark coach Morten Olsen has hinted that Arsenal’s want-away striker is close to an exit.
“The team’s future is important for Danish football and it means that players who want to switch to clubs for playing time find them quickly” Morten Olsen said.
“I expect him (Bendtner) to find a new club in a few days. Among the (Denmark) players looking for clubs, we are expecting a clarification from Nicklas Bendtner, Romme Dahl, and Christian Poulsen”
Nicklas Bendtner was left out of the Arsenal squad which traveled to Udinese yesterday.
do as soon as possible Bend
Hope he finds a good club. he has been frustrating at times but i think wenger has to take 80% of the blame why he didnt really succeed here. I think he has shown he is a much better player than chamahk and we may be letting the wrong player go. Best of Luck Nicky B.
well said!!
You’re right, Bedntner may miss more chances than Chamakh but that may be because he actually SHOOTS the ball.
Bendtner kicks the ball harder than Chamakh who plays backwards even when he receives a through pass clean on goal.
In fact, I have never seen Chamakh score a midfielder’s goal (long-range strike, or something powerful outside the box) because he just scuffs at the ball. But I have seen Bendtner net a few scorchers (Blackburn in prem., and Newcastle in Carling Cup)
Don’t also forget his vital game winners and equalizers! I’ll miss hearing a commentator say: “Bendtner!!! and Arsenal have left it late here!”
This boy could have improved into something decent but a mixture of his arrogance and Wenger’s failure to use him as a centre-forward in recent years (misfit winger instead) is why we may have seen the last of him.
He hasn’t found a club yet though. This is football, don’t rule anything out. Even Adebayor plays for Spurs.
I’m looking forward to saving £52k per week!
I see a last day loan deal which doesn’t help but that’s the arsenal way!
Both NB and Cham need to be offloaded. Neither have lived up to expectation. I’ve always said that NB is just not Arsenal quality. Cham is in the same boat for different reasons.
NB has no footballing skills – the only thing he’s reasonably good at is “holding up play”. Unfortunately for him this is not the Arsenal way. Otherwise his basics are appallingly poor for a Premiership player. He’s better suited to northern climes. Denmark or Scandinavia. Or even Scotland. NB has always been lacking. If only his feet were one tenth as good as his loud mouth
But who wants him? He’s been linked for two years with everyone from Bayern and Juve to Hamburg and Stoke – but linked only by himself and his agent, his dad. Have any of these clubs ever really been interested in him? I doubt it or he’d have gone. Looks to me like we’ll be enjoying Bendtner and his wages until he retires. Must be due for a testimonial soon.
