Pablo Mari talks about one Arsenal player who is ‘a bit different’
Arsenal signing Pablo Mari has raved about one of his new teammates after agreeing to move to the Emirates stadium last week.
Following the loan exit of Mavropanos and the injury to Calum Chambers in December, Mikel Arteta had no choice but to shop for a new centre-back during the January transfer window.
The new Arsenal boss’ search for a defender saw him target the sevices of Pablo Mari and only days before the closing of the winter transfer window, the 26-year-old finalised his move to north London.
Upon his arrival, Mari has raved about Gabriel Martinelli, who is also in the middle of his first season at the club.
The Spanish defender has wowed about the amount of potential that his Brazilian teammate possesses after a prolific debut season thus far.
According to Mari, Martinelli is ‘a bit different’ from other players and the youngster appears to be on course to become a superstar.
“He has exploded on to the scene and is showing that he’s a great player with a lot of talent,” the centre-back said, as quoted by Daily Star
“Obviously he’s still very young, but he’s already had a taste of playing at the top level and he’s doing very well.
“I’ll say congratulations when I meet him, but now he just needs to keep it up and work hard because he’s really talented.
“Martinelli has shown he is a bit different to any other player in terms of his ability.
“He has great vision and there’s real talent there in terms of his dribbling and his ability to choose the right play.
“His decision-making is improving all the time. Martinelli still has a lot more to show but he has incredible talent and I think gradually he’ll keep developing and become a top player.”
