Persie yet to forget that night at Anfield
By Randy Osae
Despite Arsenal’s title charge at stake, when Robin Van Persie confronts Liverpool this weekend, his mission will lie upon one aching memory.
The Champions League anti-climax which occurred at Anfield last season is why the Dutchman will be vying to cause revenge than anything else against the reds .
Arsenal looked bound to excel in the competition after killing off defending champions AC Milan is the previous stage and were minutes away from a semi-final berth until Liverpool broke hearts with a fraudulent penalty just after seemingly securing hopes through Adebayor and a bemusing goal in addition late-on.
That’s the last time the two sides met to date, and on Sunday, pay-back will be on top of minds.
“The game stayed with me for a couple of weeks and I still know what happened. With six minutes to go we were through and were celebrating. “
“But they got the ball and passed it to Ryan and he gets a penalty and we are out again a minute later. That finished us and it was unbelievable. The line is so thin between winning and losing at this level.
“It was so frustrating because we were through. We just had to defend for five minutes but were not able to do that.
“It is a difficult game but we always keep in mind what happened. I know how their team are playing and what they did against us before and how they hurt us. I always take that with me. We know they are a good side.”
LOL at van persie’s thoughts for revenge, its funny, but i want van persie to ruin them:D but i expect the game to be a draw…>.>
Anyone know Who The arsenal’s going to buy in jan?
No one will know that Anton…except the man up there – Wenger.
If it’s suggestions you want, then I say a quality defender, and if the luxury is there, we should add a good defensive midfielder too.
oh ok thanks
