Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech took to Twitter to post a very honest message on Sunday, following the disappointing 2-1 defeat to Brighton in the Premier League.
The Gunners have been under pressure for much of this season due to several unacceptable results across all competitions, on the back of an underwhelming 2016/17 campaign.
After securing the additions of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang during the January transfer window, many expected Arsenal’s stuttering form to improve.
However, not much has changed at the club and there was another defeat for the team on Sunday against Brighton.
Featuring in goal against the newly promoted side was Petr Cech, who joined the club from Chelsea in the summer of 2015.
The veteran shot-stopper has not had a season to remember thus far, and that was very evident on Sunday as he conceded two more soft goals.
Thus, Cech expressed his apologies on social media after the final whistle, but it is hardly what most fans are looking for at a time of sheer frustration.
