One of the forgotten members of the Arsenal first team squad was involved in training as the Gunners prepared for the upcoming clash with Brighton this weekend.
Arsene Wenger has come for serious criticism in recent months following a run of several disappointing results across all competitions for his side.
The Gunners appeared to be turning the corner following the arrivals of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang during the January transfer window.
However, several defeats which have included consecutive 3-0 thrashings at the hands of Manchester City, have seen Wenger’s men face more scrutiny, heading into the business end of the season.
One man who has not been given the opportunity to contribute frequently this season is captain Per Mertesacker.
The German defender is expected to retire after this campaign but he has continued to train with the squad professionally.
