Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil took to Twitter to express his passion for the club after the victory against Chelsea on Wednesday night.
The Gunners went into the midweek match on the back of a 4-1 thumping of Crystal Palace which was their first league win in several weeks.
Only a couple days after the controversial transfer decision from Alexis Sanchez who completed his move to Manchester United on Monday, the Arsenal team was once again under some pressure to prove itself on Wednesday.
Mesut Ozil has now been left with the role of spear-heading the Gunners to some level of success even though his own contract will expire at the end of this season.
The 29-year-old featured for the full 90 minutes and he was certainly in committed form as Arsenal secured a memorable 2-1 victory over Chelsea despite conceding an early goal from Eden Hazard.
It was the sort of night which brought the passion back out of Ozil who was quick to express his delight on Twitter after the game.
Arsenal fans will hope the German international’s attitude on social media is indeed a sign of his willingness to remain at the club.
