New signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan was able to formally visit the Emirates stadium for the first time since his memorable move to Arsenal on Monday.

The former Dortmund star was linked with a transfer to north London during the summer of 2016 before he eventually opted to join Manchester United after leaving the Bundesliga.

And less than two years after his Old Trafford switch, Mkhitaryan has agreed to become an Arsenal player, only days after celebrating his 29th birthday.

The ex-United winger has been welcomed as a direct replacement for Alexis Sanchez who said goodbye to Arsenal in the much-publicized swap deal.

Mkhitaryan will be looking forward to making his debut in the Gunners’ colours very soon with a pile of important fixtures coming up within the next couple of weeks.

The attacking midfielder was not allowed to be selected for Wednesday’s match since he is cup-tied in the competition, having featured for United earlier this season.

And ahead of the 2-1 victory over Chelsea at the Emirates stadium, Mkhitaryan let the fans know that he was able to visit his new home for the first time.
