Picture: What Bernd Leno posted after Fulham game on Tuesday
Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno took to social media to send out a message to the fans after the 4-1 victory over Fulham in the Premier League on Tuesday afternoon.
The Gunners were under serious pressure to produce a response on Tuesday after being thumped 5-1 in humiliating fashion away to Liverpool over the weekend.
Bernd Leno was the man in goal for Arsenal at Anfield as Unai Emery’s men shipped four goals in the first half of the game, despite taking an early lead against the run of play through Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Emery has been rotating his squad over the festive period but Leno has continued to keep his place in the starting eleven ahead of Petr Cech in the Premier League.
The German shot-stopper once again failed to keep a clean sheet in what was an entertaining but nervy clash with Fulham on New Year’s day.
Nonetheless, the good news was that Arsenal secured a 4-1 win and here was Leno’s message for the fans…
My dear friends, 2018 was a very exciting year for me, which I certainly will not forget. I would like to thank you for your support and wish you a happy and healthy year 2019! This year should be a success for @Arsenal and today on New Years Day we have taken the first step! 🔴 pic.twitter.com/aLfkNOBmeg
