Arsene Wenger’s squad has been strengthened by the return to fitness of one of his injured stars who had spent a long spell on the sidelines.
The past several months have been forgettable for Carl Jenkinson whose below-par form for West Ham at the start of last season was not helped by a severe knee injury he later suffered.
After being sidelined since January, the 24-year-old, who recently resumed training, was fianlly able to step up his rehabilitation on Friday.
Jenkinson managed to feature for an impressive 68 minutes at Meadow Park as Arsenal’s U-23 team played out a 0-0 draw with Southampton.
