A forgotten member of the Arsenal first team managed to make a goal-scoring return to action on Friday.

Arsene Wenger’s men have been troubled by fitness issues once again this season in their pursuit of a first Premier League title since 2004.

And one of the players who have hardly played a part in this season is Yaya Sanogo. The 24-year-old was back at the Emirates stadium last summer after spending the past two years on loan at three different clubs.

Many expected Sanogo to have been offloaded by now but the former Auxerre star, who had spent months out of action, featured for the club’s Under-23 side on Friday.

And the striker did his best to impress Wenger by scoring the first goal in a 2-0 victory over Tottenham.
