Arsene Wenger has been handed a major injury boost ahead of the clash against Chelsea in the semi-finals of the League Cup on Wednesday.
Arsenal succumbed to a surprising 4-2 defeat away to Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
That result added to Wenger’s current load of problems which includes injuries to a couple of key players.
Granit Xhaka missed the FA Cup fixture with a groin strain, while Shkodran Mustafi was also excluded from the match-day squad after picking up a knock in training.
However, ahead of Wednesday’s game, the pair have returned to action, much to the delight of the Arsenal manager.
Xhaka and Mustafi managed to get involved in Tuesday morning’s training session at London Colney.
With Chelsea likely to be even tougher opponents than the one the Gunners faced on Sunday, the duo are expected to be handed spots in the starting eleven if they are passed fit.
