Arsene Wenger received a major injury boost over the weekend even though he witnessed his side suffer a damaging defeat to Manchester City.
The Arsenal manager has once again been troubled by injury worries this season as he looks to secure a return to the Champions League after last year’s failure to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition.
Manchester City certainly handed the Gunners a set-back in their pursuit of a top four finish on Sunday as two controversial goals decided the game in the second half.
One man not involved in the clash at the Etihad stadium was Danny Welbeck who has been nursing a groin injury he suffered in the 2-1 defeat at Watford.
However, the 26-year-old managed to train with the first team a couple of days ago ahead of the match against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Welbeck is now back in training with the first team and he is expected to be available for selection after the international break.
