Piers Morgan applauds Arsenal star who was ‘great’ and ‘full of energy’ vs Newcastle
Piers Morgan took to social media to applaud the display of Arsenal’s chief playmaker during the thumping 4-0 win over Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners were aiming to avoid yet another draw at least on Sunday as they welcomed a Newcastle side who are in the midst of a relegation battle.
With hardly any other creative options available in midfield, Mikel Arteta had no choice but to keep Mesut Ozil in the starting eleven, despite the playmaker’s indifferent form prior to the mid-season break in Dubai.
The former Real Madrid star did produce a much brighter show in the second half of the game against Newcastle as the Gunners secured their biggest win of the campaign thus far.
Ozil even managed to put the icing on the cake by scoring Arsenal’s third goal of the match, which was his first goal-scoring contribution in a while.
As a result, Piers Morgan heaped praise on the playmaker, whom he felt was ‘full of energy’ on Sunday afternoon.
3-0. Bloody hell… Ozil's scored.
And he's had a great game, full of energy & creativity.
This is the @MesutOzil1088 that I used to love, glad to see him back.
