Piers Morgan slams one Arsenal star who ‘let down’ Ljungberg in goodbye message
Piers Morgan has sent out a goodbye message to Freddie Ljungberg after Saturday’s game against Everton, while picking out one of the players whom he felt were responsible for letting down the interim manager.
The Gunners had to settle for a draw away to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon, as their thin hopes of challenging for a place in the top four of the Premier League suffered a setback once again.
In charge of an Arsenal game as the interim manager one last time was Freddie Ljungberg, who had been overseeing the job after the sacking of Unai Emery in late November.
The former Arsenal attacker only managed to guide the team to victory on one occasion in what was a frustrating three weeks for him as the temporary boss of his beloved club.
However, Piers Morgan has insisted that some players have to take responsibility for letting down Ljungberg and one of them is Mesut Ozil, who reacted with sheer anger after being substituted in last week’s game against Manchester City.
Thanks @freddie – you performed an utterly thankless task with great dignity & a pride in our great club sorely lacking in many of our current players.
A great shame that work-shy wastrels like @MesutOzil1088 let you down so badly. pic.twitter.com/tdv48d0yBf— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 21, 2019
