Celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has taken to Twitter to show support for the player who saved the team’s blushes on Tuesday night.
The Gunners were trailing for so long to Norwich City following a below-par first half display which saw the away side take the lead through a strike from Josh Murphy in the 34th minute.
Arsene Wenger then gambled in the dying minutes of regulation time by taking off Reiss Nelson to bring on another youngster in Eddie Nketiah.
And the rest was history as the 18-year-old went on to score two well-timed goals to send Arsenal through to the quarter-finals of the competition with a 2-1 victory.
Nketiah has received plaudits from all sorts of angles after the game and Piers Morgan has joined in to applaud the youngster.
Well played young man. ? https://t.co/q62YehAVrL
