Piers Morgan reacts to 1-0 defeat to Atletico: Hammers Arsenal man on Twitter
Well-known Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan took to Twitter once again to express his thoughts after watching the Gunners lose away to Atletico Madrid in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Arsene Wenger saw his side lose yet another game in the Premier League on Sunday as a late header from Marouane Fellaini sealed a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford.
That result came only a couple of days after the Gunners were held to a draw by a ten-man Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final at the Emirates stadium.
Thus, Wenger’s men went into the trip to Spain on Thursday with the pressure on them to secure a positive result which would clinch a place in the final of the competition.
However, thanks to another defensive error which saw Diego Costa get the better of Hector Bellerin on the right flank to score, the Gunners bowed out of the Europa League.
And Piers Morgan reacted to the result by hammering the man in charge of the team once again…
So Wenger fails to win a European trophy for the 22nd consecutive year.
And we'll end up 6th in the League, his worst finish in 22 years. (Last year was his previous worst..)
The harsh truth is he stayed way too long & wrecked his legacy. #afc pic.twitter.com/lfZjsFuSpo
