The agent of one of Liverpool’s senior strikers has revealed that Arsenal recently made an enquiry about the player’s availability.
Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is on the market for a new striker following the injury to Danny Welbeck which will rule him out until spring 2017.
The Arsenal boss has made an audacious move to sign Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy but with the 29-year-old stalling over a decision, Wenger has been encouraged to continue his search.
According to the agent of Christian Benteke, a player previously been linked to the Gunners, the Liverpool striker has attracted an enquiry from Arsenal.
“Has there been contacts with Chelsea and Arsenal? Many clubs want the player, it’s obvious.” Eric Kismet said.
“But he is now only thinking to do well in the European Championship. He wants to win the competition with Belgium.
“We’ll think about his future later.”
