‘Real flop’ – Ray Parlour discusses whether Arsenal should re-sign former £35m star

Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour has given his opinion on whether the club should make an attempt to bring back one of the players who were sold in the January transfer window last year.
Before Arsene Wenger was allowed to say goodbye to the club during spring last year, the Gunners had also decided to get rid of a number of players to trim down the squad.
One of the stars who were ditched by Arsenal in the January transfer window of 2018 was Alexis Sanchez, whom the club had signed from FC Barcelona in a £35m deal.
The former Barca star was a superb player during his years at the Emirates stadium and prior to Aubameyang’s feat this season, Sanchez was in fact the last Arsenal player to manage to score 30 goals or more in a signle campaign.
The forward was handed to Premier League rivals Manchester United last winter in a swap deal but Sanchez has failed to hit the ground running at Old Trafford.
Following speculation about whether the Chile international will leave United or not, Ray Parlour has revealed what he thinks the Gunners should do after rumours about the possibility of him coming back to the Emirates stadium.
“He was very good at Arsenal. Whether the fans would welcome him back I’m not so sure,” Parlour said – HITC
“He’s been a real flop. The problem you might have is that he was probably the biggest player at Arsenal, now Pogba is getting more limelight than he does.
“He was sensational at Arsenal (but) he’s 30 years old now and I don’t think Arsenal would be going down that road.”
