Foreign journalist leaks update on Arsenal move to sign 25-year-old
Italian journalist Niccolo Schira has revealed an update on the Gunners’ attempt to land the signature of a new midfielder this month.
The Gunners broke their transfer record around this time last year as Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang moved to the Emirates stadium from Borussia Dortmund.
However, the club has a very different budget this year with no signings made so far even though the team is clearly struggling on the pitch.
With Arsenal left in a desperate situation in their fight for a top four finish this term, the only serious transfer target at this point appears to be Denis Suarez.
The 25-year-old has been rumoured to be a man whom the Gunners are keeping an eye on but a deal is yet to be agreed with Barcelona.
Due to Arsenal’s horrendous financial situation, the club is only looking to seal a loan deal for Suarez.
Indeed, according to journalist Nicolo Schira, the club is now set to hold more talks with Barca on Monday over a possible deal.
#Arsenal is continuing to talk with #Barcellona for #DenisSuarez (agreement with Sanllehi). Unai #Emery has offered a transfer on loan with option to buy. Blaugrana prefers a permanent deal. Monday there will be new contacts between Gunners and Barça. #transfers #AFC
