Arsenal managed to secure their second straight victory in the Premier League courtesy of a superb goal from Olivier Giroud and a header from Alex Iwobi in the second half.

Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up was missing Mesut Ozil, the man who set up Olivier Giroud’s winning goal on Monday night against West Brom.

The German international was apparently suffering from a flu but that did not stop Arsenal from getting the job done against an out-of-form Crystal Palace side.

Lucas Perez was handed a rare start in attack while Alex Iwobi took over the number 10 role, and the result of those changes was easy on the eye.

Arsenal looked enthusiastic on the ball straight from kick-off and despite missing a gilt-edge opportunity after five minutes, Olivier Giroud responded by scoring a remarkable goal which many will remember this game for.

The Frenchman met Alexis Sanchez’s cross with a majestic back-heeled volley which looped its way into the net after kissing the crossbar following 18 minutes of dominant action from the hosts.

As many have come to expect, Arsenal then went on to squander a few more opportunities to double their lead before Alex Iwobi finally made it 2-0 by heading the ball home after some slack defending from the away side 11 minutes into the second half.
