Arsenal are now unbeaten in 20 consecutive games at home after a share of the spoils with Manchester City on Saturday.
It was a proud result but it could have also been a proud win if not for City’s late equalizer. After a blistering start which saw debutant Danny Welbeck find the post instead of the net with a stylish finish, it was City who took the lead through Aguero’s counter-attack goal.
The visitors were ahead going into the second-half but Arsenal were still battling back with their pretty patterns. And when Wilshere glued the ball to his feet and then chipped it past Joe Hart, the Gunners finally had their pretty reward.
From that point onwards, the game looked to go be traveling in Arsenal’s direction as Alexis Sanchez continued the trend of sublime goals by volleying a pass from Wilshere home with just 15 minutes left.
But Arsenal’s 2-1 advantage lasted until the 83rd minute when their failures with set-pieces returned to haunt them as Demichelis found a free header to level matters for the last time.
