Report: Arsenal 3-0 West Brom.
A professional performance from Arsenal against West Brom ensured that for the first time in two seasons, the Gunners registered four consecutive wins in Premier League.
Wenger’s men had a fairly comfortable afternoon which was underway once Robin van Persie struck yet again – rebounding Walcott’s saved effort home from close-range after 22 minutes.
West Brom threatened to respond but Thomas Vermaelen netted a second for Arsenal five minutes before half-time – a goal similar to Van Persie’s strike – as he smashed the ball home after Roy Hodgson’s men failed to clear away an Arsenal attempt at goal.
The Gunners just looked to see out the victory after the break and with 15 minutes left on the clock, Mikel Arteta placed home arguably the goal of the game to seal a 3-0 victory over West Brom who did not prove to be as stubborn as they had been on their previous trips to the Emirates.
The biggest impact of today’s win is that it moved Arsenal level on points with Liverpool who are in sixth place only on goal difference, after the reds drew a blank at home to Swansea.
Wenger’s men have been gradually climbing.
