podolski kicking

A finishing masterclass from Lukas Podolski helped Arsenal to a much needed victory over West Ham on Tuesday.

The Hammers did their best to stir the drama at Arsenal which saw them without a win in four games ahead of today as Jarvis took advantage of some slack defending to head the visitors into the lead.

The Gunners had been their recent lack-luster selves prior to going behind on the stroke of half-time but Jarvis’ goal woke them up. Only three minutes later, Podolski received a Cazorla pass and sliced the ball home to put the hosts level going into the half-time.

That was a great time for Arsenal to score and when they returned for the second-half it was a great goal which put them ahead.

Vermaelen booted the ball into the box with Giroud wrestling for space and the French striker took the ball down brilliantly with his left foot and smashed it through the goalkeeper’s legs with his right.

Despite Arsenal’s terrorizing fight back, West Ham were not dead yet though and it took a powerful strike from Podolski after an assist from substitute Ramsey to secure the points.
