Report: Stoke City 1-3 Arsenal
An affair overshadowed by a horrific injury to Aaron Ramsey saw Arsenal overcome Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium for once.
Rory Delap went by the expected script to set up Pugh for the opening goal but Bentner leveled matters before half-time and very well against the script, Ramsey suffered a terrible leg break at the hands of Shawcross.
The Gunners were left traumatized like they were exactly two years ago at Birmingham but unlike that day, Wenger’s men had a happy ending as a Fabregas spot kick put them in front late on before Vermaelen clinched a 3-1 victory in injury time.
Following the final whistle, Arsenal’s squad gathered together in the center circle for a group huddle, knowing the immense character they showed today had hurled them back into the title race – now just three points behind Chelsea.

Thanks to God and the hard work of the players that we have won.We pray that the injury is not career threatening.
The Ramsey leg break as overshadowed the Win. Our players need more protection, as we always fall victims to silly challenges like this one.
The ref was AWFUL today and very inconsistent
terrible, terrible injury. Excellent result though. After the injury I thought the game would just roll to a 1-1 draw but we responded brilliantly. And that was without two clear cut penalties being given to us
Yet another one of our players left with a horrific injury, so bad that it wasn’t replayed. Even though we won, I’m well pissed off.
GOOD TEAM SPIRIT,KEEP IT UP,
Our thoughts go out to you Ramsey.. Excellent camaradarie shown by the lads though! It may be what defines our season.. Go Gunners! 🙂
Utterly awful injury. No two ways about it. Shawcross seemed to be very upset by his actions though, which is no consolation for any of us. 3 vital points, yes. More importantly though, one of our brightest talent’s has today been scuppered for a long long time. Ger well soon Aaron. Come on you Gunners!!!
Nice game but a mixture of sweet and sour may Allah help ramsey with a quicl recovery
Lets see how long it takes Pulis to break out the “Northern Cloggers Kick Arsenal and Get Away with it” excuse template.
Wouldn’t hurt a fly… check. Heart of gold…check. Loves his mum… check. Has been in to see Ramsey to give his best wishes…check.
It’s time Arsenal got behind the players and took out legal action against the player making yet another horrendous tackle. In the light of continued Sky anti- Arsenal bias and general neswpaper collusion when it comes to anti Arsenal agendas and in particular encouraging the kind of over the top disgusting tackling which has seen us lose the third player in four years to the same kind of tackles, it is clearly the only thing that will discourage talentless musclebound athletes like Smith, Taylor and Shawcross from perpetrating their assaults.
44 years since England won anything. In that time we have seen the durtch with total football, the brazilians and French with their versions. England are still stuck inn the dark ages with the kind of assaults the likes of Stiles and Hunter used to make. Until this pernicious ignoring of skill in favour of brute strength is tempered, we’re condemned to more world cup years of raising expectations only to be disappointed when it turns out the latest “golden generation” is another bunch of huffing puffing wannabees.
I’m sick of “English” football.
Amaizing show of character esg afta tht horrific injury.get well sn frm al kenyan fans
The team is well gathered and brought out what they can do when it is needed but unfortunately for our dear Aaron Ramsey who had been very fantastic on the pitch, had one of his legs broken. I hope he recover so soon.
Go arsenal, go for it. Its in your reach you can make it.

I knw th injury on th young lad will take time but I pray it will nt ruin his young brightly upcoming career. Hope you recover, Ramsey. Rest of th team, it was a demoralising moment, even 2 us, th fans, bt thnx 4 ur composure 2 bring th game back. Ths is th best u culd hav shown n we proud of u all. Rambo, take h@t, quick recovery is our hope n faith.
I love u ramsey, it wouldn’t be long till u get well. That is what de antiarsenal papers and pundits wants to hear. They do all they can to break our spirit when we are going strong but this time we would prove to them that time to lose hope is over, this is the time to sing ‘we are the champions’. Shame on you english football
great win what a good comback but im still demoralised of what happened to one our stars of the future. ryan shawcross can cry as much as he likes. he is a fukin thug who deserves to be punshed severely loved it when vermaelen scored tht really silenced the cunts of stoke the only player in stoke who i can say is not a thug is tuncay he’s the only player that isnt a cunt in tht disgusting team
The Ref today was as bad as ever! He missed Two clear penalties for us, one on Ramsey. The Premier League has to get these clowns together to decide what a penalty is. Stoke is tuff to beat at home simply because refs allow them to foul there. They just don’t call them for penalties at the Britania. But it was the ref’s lack of control in this game that led to Shawcross’s Horrible challenge. He should be flogged in public for his incompetence.
arsenalfor life just 3 points between us and chelsea next 2 games include hme game to burnley and an away gme at hull both easy wins for me but the only 2 games which are tricky for me include totenham and man shitty looking at what theyn did to chelsea tday informs us of the quality they have van persie’s back in april meaning we will have a boost but i think we have managed to win hard games without him i like bendners contribution need more of arshavin and eduardo but i think they’re both on track we will win the league this season
I may be a little off topic: but can we just recognize that we have a genius of a manager…? gosh I was so pleases/happy/proud watching Sol Campbell play today…i thought he was excellent…In Arsene I trust!!!
Keep the faith,it’s not over till the fat lady sings.
