Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir has emerged as Arsenal’s main target in the transfer market ahead of the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for the French side this season, scoring 12 goals in all competitions.
Reports earlier this week even went as far as suggesting that a deal which would see Fekir move to the Emirates stadium was ‘almost done’
And going by comments made by the player’s father two years ago, Arsenal is indeed the club he would like to join.
“Nabil would like to finish 1st or 2nd and play Champions League football with Lyon,” Ferkir’s father said in 2015
“If he leaves, it will be for Arsenal. It’s the only club that can enable him to progress, with Arsene Wenger.
“He will not go to Manchester City to sit on the bench.”
Fekir is known to be a good friend of Alexandre Lacazette, his former Lyon teammate, prompting some Arsenal fans to call for the striker to convince his countryman to join the club.
