Sky Sports pundit Danny Mills has claimed that the Gunners’ will get ‘creative’ to sell one of Unai Emery’s star attacking players this summer ahead of next season.

The Arsenal boss has faced some level of criticism after failing to guide the club back into the Champions League last season, following the decision to name him as the man to replace Arsene Wenger.

For much of the 2018/19 campaign, Unai Emery did not appear to have faith in Mesut Ozil, whom he dropped from the Gunners’ starting eleven on several occasions.

The German midfielder signed a new contract last winter, which saw him become the highest-paid player at Arsenal, in the history of the club.

Following a very frustrating season at the Emirates stadium, the future of Mesut Ozil has become the subject of debate again and pundit Danny Mills claims he has heard the club will try its best to get rid of him this summer.

“From what I hear, Arsenal will get creative to offload Ozil,” Mills told Football Insider. “He’s become a problem player for them. Sometimes you have to accept you won’t be able to cover your losses and accept you are going to lose money on a player.

“If it means getting a player out, that’s what you need to do. Is Ozil part of Emery’s plan next season and the season after? If he thinks he is not, then the club should manufacture it to get rid of him because he’s on massive wages.”
