Arsenal appear to be plotting a move to bring in another attacker to bolster the squad when the transfer window opens in just over a week.

The Gunners wrapped up the appointment of Mikel Arteta as the new manager on Friday after going several weeks without a permanent boss following the sacking of Unai Emery.

With the January transfer window just around the corner, Arteta might look to strengthen his squad and Kevin Volland is said to be the man on his radar.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are now considering a move to sign the 27-year-old from Bayer Leverkusen next month.

Based on the report, the Gunners have sent out scouts to watch Volland in action on a few occasions already this season and a transfer move to land his services is being weighed up.

It would be interesting to see Arsenal chase the signature of another attacker, only months after spending heavily on Nicolas Pepe.

Like the Ivorian, Volland is a left-footed forward but he is more versatile, having played either as a winger or a lone striker for Bayer Leverkusen.
