Reporter Kaveh Solhekol has revealed via Sky Sports why Arsenal’s move to sign one of La Liga’s top midfielders appears to have gone quiet.

The Gunners have secured the signings of five new players so far this summer but there have been rumours about more new faces to come.

Various reports have been claiming this summer that Arsenal are chasing the services of Sevilla star Steven N’Zonzi.

The Frenchman is a player whom Unai Emery worked with during his time in Spain rumours have suggested that the duo could reunite in north London.

However, with Arsenal move to sign N’Zonzi appearing to have slowed down despite claims that there had been talks over a deal, Sky reporter’s has revealed the midfielder’s price has been an issue.

“Steven Nzonzi is likely to leave Sevilla this summer,” Solhekol said.

“He has a £35million release clause which is too much for Arsenal at the moment.

“But Roma are looking at him as a potential replacement for Radja Nainggolan. We are also told Barcelona are interested in him.”
