Spanish journalist on whether Arsenal have made contact to sign South American manager
Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, who now works for BBC, has revealed the truth regarding the possible pursuit of Diego Simeone by the Gunners.
Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League last season meant a lot of pressure was on Unai Emery to deliver, heading into this campaign.
The Spaniard, who guided the club to the Europa League final in his debut season, saw his side get even worse this year, resulting in his sacking from the club last Friday.
With Emery now gone, the Gunners have kicked off the search for a new manager and Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has been touted as one of the club’s targets as per The Express.
Even though Atletico have faced their struggles this season, Simeone is still regarded as one of the best managers in Europe at the moment.
However, journalist Balague has revealed that the South American tactician has actually made no contact with Arsenal.
Diego Simeone has no intention of leaving At. Madrid, has had no contact from #Arsenal now or in the past and it's not in his immediate plans (say, next year) to go to Arsenal or any other PL club.
