Yaya Sanogo is now close to completing talks with Ajax over a loan deal for next season.
The 22-year-old was in Holland over the weekend to discuss a season-long loan deal with the Dutch giants.
Arsene Wenger landed the striker from Auxerre in the summer of 2013, but Sanogo has failed to make the most of limited first team opportunities as he spent the remainder of last season on loan at Crystal Palace.
With the Gunners boss still open to the idea of adding a new striker to his squad, Sanogo is set to be handed one more chance to develop elsewhere.
The French youngster has been omitted from Arsenal’s pre-season tour in Singapore ahead of a one week trial at the Sportpark De Toekomst – the main training camp of Ajax.
Former Arsenal hero Dennis Bergkamp is believed to have been influential in Sanogo’s link with Ajax.
