Chelsea’s continued favoritism as champions-elect meant Arsenal were effectively dumped out of the title race as Spurs went on to claim a 2-1 victory.

The Gunners will now call on the old foe for an unlikely favor when Redknapp’s men host Chelsea on Saturday but a result today could have put them well in the thick of things at the top of the table.

And as Wenger rues the ‘what ifs’, the manager feels there was a lot lacking in the depleted squad which represented Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Wednesday.

“I would not like to go into any individual criticism tonight.” Wenger said.

“We lost a game we couldn’t afford to lose in the title race and that shows that we are not mature enough because if you want to win the League, this kind of game you cannot lose.”
