The returning Van Persie proved his match fitness on Wednesday but the good news ends there for Arsenal as Vermaelen joins the injury list – which already reads: Arshavin, Gallas, Djourou, Song, Fabregas, Ramsey and Gibbs – while Denilson is a doubt for Sunday’s game.
Preferred line-up:
Conditions:
The aging and injury-prone Rosicky may find two games in five days a big ask so it may be time to try out a youngster on the left flank where Merida or Vela could be good options. Arsenal look more poised in attack in away games where Eboue starts while Walcott deserves a chance for his late contribution in midweek.

i think wenger should start eduardo till the end of the season, the only reason why hes so rusty is because he needs match time, how can someone who was the best finisher in the league now be one of the worst!! it just doesnt happen

It can happen when that player sustained a horific injury like he did. It has to be on the back of his mind everytime he plays a competitive match. Especially when playing a physical side of which there are plenty of in the EPL.

Walcot should come on as a sub,he is a good player but he needs to be flexible and develop sneaky mind in his game. Currently he is easy to mark. Merida is good at picking those Fab-passes, which we lacked so much in the absence Cesc. Nasri and Diaby takes a lot of time on the ball instead of slotting the ball in spaces hence the delay makes the opposition cover themselves and it becomes difficult to score. I would encourage Eduardo to start, he works so well with RVP, and will give a breather to Nik B to come in from the bench and finish the game. With two strikers, I believe between Nasri and Diaby, should support the attack with caution as we have the oldest CB for 90 minutes. The game should be finished by half time.
We are praying to maintain our third place up gunners.

nothing gauranteed this term. big games left. city will be very tough given how depleted we are and they being at full strength.
wigan is often a tough fixture for us as well. gotta think positive, but nothing in the bag.

For gods sake, keep Silvestre off the starting IX..
Let Sagna take his place, and Eboue Sagnas place. Silvestre is a disaster waiting to happen, og has cost us plenty of points. Keep him away!

I will rather try Merida (who has had quite a contribution in cameos this season – remember Bolton?) than risk losing Rosicky for the rest of the season. (the guy has been playing consecutive games for a while now)
That said, it could even be a better option to have a left-footed player play on the left flank for once so there will be less pressure on Clichy to move forward and cross. Even that could be a plus for Clichy in defense too. Have you noticed how Vela wins balls on that left flank when he is playing late on?
And “Merida shouldn’t be rushed”?. It would have been reasonable to say that during the beginning of the season when there are plenty games to come rather than the business end when you have a depleted squad and every single member of the squad counts.
I personally said the title race is not over yet in my previous post and throwing in the towel would be saying “Van Persie shouldn’t be risked for next season and stay on the bench” or resting the Nasris and Diabys.

You guys ready for this blow up line up. It’s kind of a mix mash line up of hey were playing Wigan, we have nobody and lets start some of the lads who have not played and give them a run against a mid table team. I doubt Wegner will do it but I think he should so he can get an idea of what he will have next season.

It’s a good mix and doesn’t play our two biggest “faults” Sil and Diaby. Reward Theo for a good run and start playing some of the reserves, give them a reason to stick around and play for their 1st team spot.
