‘They were immense’: Piers Morgan picks out 2 players apart from Auba who impressed vs Chelsea
Well-known Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan took to social media to applaud the performances of two players other than Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang who were worthy of praise after the 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday.
The Gunners made another trip to Wembley stadium, only a couple of weeks after the 2-0 win over Manchester City in the semi-final of the FA Cup.
Arsenal were looking to secure their fourth FA Cup triumph since 2014, when they ended a nine-year trophy drought by beating Hull City to secure a much-needed piece of silverware.
Mikel Arteta named a starting eleven which once again featured the likes of David Luiz and Granit Xhaka, two players who have often received criticism from the fans this season.
The duo were in action for much of the game on Saturday as two goals from captain Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang saw Arsenal come back from a goal down to win 2-1 against Frank Lampard’s side.
After the final whistle, Piers Morgan took to Twitter to praise Xhaka and Luiz for their display in the cup final…
These two have taken a lot of flak as Arsenal players, some of it justified, some overblown. But they were immense yesterday & I admire their resilience & determination to work hard for @m8arteta & the club. Congrats @DavidLuiz_4 & Xhaka. 👏👏👏 pic.twitter.com/GixrJ8zFsX
