welbeck and le coq

Arsene Wenger had all three of his fit-again players available in first team training today ahead of Saturday’s clash with Burnley in the FA Cup.

Tomas Rosicky and Danny Welbeck had been sidelined all season after undergoing major surgeries just before the start of the campaign.

However, the Czech international was involved with the first team today after featuring for the club’s under-21 side on Friday while Welbeck, now fully completed with rehab, resumed training after nine months out.

More importantly for Arsenal, Francis Coquelin has now managed to participate in training for several days after making a surprise recovery from his knee injury well ahead of schedule.

Along with the fit-again trio, new signing Mohamed Elneny was once again present in Tuesday morning’s session which saw youngsters Alex Iwobi and Jeff Reine-Adelaide also involved.

With the various injury boosts, Arsenal now have only two senior players, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla, on the sidelines ahead of this weekend’s fixture.

Second string options David Ospina, Calum Chambers and Kierran Gibbs are expected to feature against Burnley but with Per Mertesacker serving only a one-match ban, Saturday could be another rare appearance for Gabriel.
