Tracking Lukas: Striker shows his ability from the spot this time
As it has been in recent weeks, Red London will be tracking the progress of Arsenal-bound striker Lukas Podolski in the Bundesliga for the rest for the season.
Following a barren spell in front of goal which lasted for a couple of games, Podolski was back amongst the goals again this weekend as he scored in Cologne’s 2-1 defeat to Augsburg.
Ja-Cheol Koo had put Augsburg ahead but Podolski managed to earn a penalty kick for his side and coolly dispatched it to put Cologne back on level terms – his 17th goal in 23 games this season.
However, Nando Rafael restored Augsburg’s advantage also from the spot just three minutes after Podolski had scored as the hosts held on for a win which sunk Cologne into more relegation woes.

It has been a bright season for Podolski but not so bright for his side who are now two points adrift of safety in the Bundesiga.
